OMG, what a schlock fest! The dinosaurs were modeled well, but the dinosaur attacks were very poor. I noticed the captain had a blank attachment on his rifle in one scene, but not in another. That's a goof. For a special forces team they sure didn't act like it. They didn't "move" like it, either. They didn't really move like they were in hostile territory and they weren't really "stealthy." Also, when the guys got killed, nobody seemed to strip the bodies of useful gear like weapons, ammo, rations or water. Most guys looked too old to be special forces. Some guys were sweating like pigs while the woman soldier had no sweat on her at all! Come on! They were initially picked up by a military helicopter, but at the end they were rescued by a much smaller civilian helicopter. Why was that? No more military choppers available? Since the headquarters did not know how many soldiers had been killed, that smaller civilian helicopter would not have been large enough to extract the full team if there had not been any casualties. And last...you could NOT fire a LAW anti-tank launcher inside a helicopter and hope to survive! The back-blast of the missile causes tremendous damage in confined spaces and would severely damage the interior of the helicopter and its passengers! And a LAW missile does NOT maneuver around the sky like that missile did until it hit the T-Rex! The LAW is a ballistic type missile that follows an hyperbolic course like a bullet does until it hits or misses its target. Cool dinosaurs, crappy movie. Low grade acting. It was entertaining enough to keep me watching on a day I had nothing better to do, but there is plenty to criticize too. The special effects certainly on par with a low-budget film, but it did admirably with what they had. Budgets stink, but it matters. The bad guys fired 1000s of rounds and hit ziltch. I know a little about firefights in the central and South American jungles and people hit more than trees (and these guys didn't seem to even be able to hit those, though a steel drum got hit twice). It matters because a credible threat is what makes for a tense moment. Even the characters seemed so unconcerned that they did not bother using proper cover for much of the conflict. The conflicts in general just did not sell any threat as they needed to. The script, setting and plot were all pretty fair, but lacked a lot of resolution for characters at the end. What of the Colonel who faced threats of punishment? What of the chemical weapon concerns? A story presented with such storylines needs a resolution for them. Perhaps they ran out of money to complete the story? Who knows, but it does matter. The dialog could have been richer and more believable, which could have made this a much better film, but it was sufficient for the most part. Casting likewise was just sufficient for the script. This type of film with the special effects they had is not easy for actors and a challenge for many to react to things convincingly that are not actually there. The limitations of the script dialog didn't help them much either, so they were harder to evaluate in that sense. However, I did not find much that convinced me they were soldiers operating with situational awareness as might actually see with a real soldier in a situation. The bad guy was unconvincing in the worst possible way. His character was not well thought out, developed or portrayed by the actor. The whole part from top to bottom was an epic failure. You don't send in a team to take out a character like that... nothing portrayed convinced me he was a threat to anuone but himself no matter what the dialog said of him. The cinematographer was pretty good and the locations were solid I thought. The helicopter at the end was SO not a military chopper sent for a rescue. Budgets, budgets and budgets. It just makes these movies so much better than others . Thrilling filled with terror & danger all around you You never know what to expect & it's a whole different world & not yours!!!! So, now you try to stay alive & take action to put these dinosaurs under control & however this story unfolds is what makes it a great movie , Keeps the audience interested & for most on the edge of their seat!!!!
