I very much enjoyed the film, sets, film, audio, acting…alike. I think they did probably have a limited budged, but did everything they could to use their money in a way that contributed to a very hard hitting film. I (although I know others didn’t) found the acting very good and I applaud the whole movie they were trying to make. The weird green screen comments I cannot comment upon. I don’t now. But I do know it didn’t distract from the message the movie was departing. As my own aside. I loved this film. I enjoyed it and have watched it a couple of times I also read her book! I'm a recovering alcoholic (I'm 53 and greatfully sober for 4 beautiful years now, the longest I've been my whole life) but my poor mum didn't find recovery and was locked away in institutions/mental asylums much like this one (in a place called Tasmania mostly). When she gave birth to me in 1971 she was instituted at a place called Wacol, Wolston Park - there's a lot of written history to be found online but not a lot filmed accurately of conditions & treatment. I was last born of 11-13 children...we were all taken to be state wards and mum was re instituted...over and over and over again...until she finally died at 80! She was an alcoholic but mis diagnosed all her life. Locked up, down and treated with electric shock treatment (1950.s onwards) as well as psychiatric "medicines" that were prescribed to keep her sedate. Was a truly horrific thing to witness as a child 😮. My experience in psych hospitals has been so different ..I was treated humanely (most of the time) and had more say with regards to what mental illness I actually HAD until it was discovered I have Alcoholism and I got a bed in a rehab that was publically funded. My own daughter doesn't have mental health disorders diagnosed yet but may have CPTSD therapy in future as she has witnessed a lot of the symptoms of my Alcoholism before treatment and met her grandmother a few times before she passed away...I'm prone to believe that we all carry a component of "intergenerational trauma" from our parents so I hope she will find the way to her own healing..and am very grateful my own recovery was not fraught with half as much suffering as my mum's ❤😊>> <<@ИринаПогорецкая-щ8л says : Ужас!
